Rio Cultural

One of the richest tours in culture because of the variety of offers of historical monuments, beyond the beautiful landscapes of Beach of Botafogo and Park of Flamengo that are on the passage of the tour. The Park of Flamengo, situated to the edge of Guanabara Bay, is the biggest project of landscape done in Brazil and made by the landscape gardener Robert Burle Marx. With more than 1.200 thousand m2 of leisure area, the park shelters three museums: the Museum of Modern Art, the Museum Carmem Miranda and the Museum of the Monument in Honor to Deceased Soldiers in the Second World War. The tour continues for the Downtown. Region that was born in 1565 and, although it had modernized during the long of the years, the place still keeps the architectural relics. In the Downtown we pass for Sambódromo - of 1984, with capacity for 70  thousand people to Carnival Parade -, for Square 11 and for Saara. Saara is the biggest concentration of retailing of Rio, that received this name due to the great number of Arabians owners. But the scene changed and the owners of the stores are in the majority Koreans. The one that looks at the style of the construction of the houses up the market, will see the beautiful façades of century XIX. After that we pass for  Tiradentes Square, for Archers of Lapa - an aqueduct of century XVIII and that in the end of century XIX it started to serve as viaduct for the new trams of iron - and we go up the Slope of Saint Teresa. The bucolic and graceful neighbourhood is one of the preferred quarters of artists. It was born in century XVIII, for outskirts of a convent and it conserves the customs and aspects of a time we call as Old Rio. The Park of Ruins (Parque das Ruínas) and the Mansion of the Sky (Chácara do Céu) are examples of preserved monuments.
In the end of the tour, the car  goes back for Glory (Gloria) neighbourhood, where is possible to imagine carriage ahead leading aristocrats in direction of humbles and perplexed passers-by because of the ostentation. It is also possible to imagine to be painting a picture where during the Carnival the maiden put on a costume of prudish, and years later the old revelers were guided by Chorinho Song (Popular Brazilian Music). Glory is a neighbourhood with a French style.
