A) 'Camarotes' (Mezzanine Boxes) are the most coveted positions. 'Cadeiras de pista' are sets of tables with four numbered chairs.
B) 'Frisas' (Open Boxes) - Between the tables and the parade avenue, there is a row of 'frisas'. These are open boxes with a small table and numbered chairs that seat from 6 to 8 people. They are as close to the parade avenue as it gets. (Too close according to some). WE DON’T KNOW IF IN 2008 WILL HAVE THIS TYPE OF SEATS.
C) 'Arquibancadas' (Grandstand terraces) are the most reasonably priced seats. The elevated position gives a better idea of the Samba Schools as a group. The standard terraces do not have numbered seats. The VIP terraces in Sectors 9 and 11, which are more expensive, do have numbered seats. Terraces do not contain chairs but are, in fact, large concrete steps. |
