             In a peninsula in the fluminense northern coastline, Búzios attracts many Brazilian and foreign visitors by its natural beauties and a unique climate, that combines simplicity and sophistication. Its official name is Armação de Búzios, inherited from the period it was used in whales hunting, in the XVIII century. After 1964, when the French actress Brigitte Bardott spent her vacations in the city, the fishermen village became famous internationally.
            There is a lot of beaches, with diversified formats, from the most visited to the almost desert ones, all of them with from emerald green to sky blue. Beaches with very charming inns and restaurants that serve elaborated Brazilian and international dishes. By night, Rua das Pedras (Pedras' Street), a real walkway in the city center, is very visited by people searching for fun. For maritime sports lovers, there are good conditions for practicing surfing, sailing, windsurfing and diving. You can appreciate other Búzios’ beauties in ship tours or hikes through the Atlantic Forest. The city also offers a special attraction to golfers: a field with 18 holes and 7 hundred yards on Búzios Golfe Club.

INFRASTRUCTURE

            Great number of inns mainly marks the hotels on Búzios. Most of them are near to beaches and their characteristics are a charming decoration and architecture. In the city center, are the most sophisticated restaurants, but all over the border there are places for those people who prefer simpler meals, based in seafood. There are diving operators, car rental agencies and branches from the main banks.

HOW TO GET THERE

           Armação de Búzios is 180 km far from the Rio de Janeiro city. The access is by the roads BR-101, RJ-124 and RJ-106. The road terminal receives buses departing from the capital and from São Paulo city.
